The Nooran Sisters

The Nooran Sisters – Jyoti Nooran and Sultana Nooran – hail from the Sham Chaurasia gharana of music. The sisters trained for ten years under their father, Gulshan Mir: part of a family of renowned Sufi singers from Punjab.

The duo rose to fame with the MTV Talent hunt series in India, MTV Sound Trippin, with the song ‘Tung Tung’, and later, the MTV Unplugged series, Coke Studio. They got their first break in Bollywood with the movie ‘Highway’ in 2014, with famed music director A.R Rahman. Since then, the Nooran Sisters have sung in several Hindi and Punjabi films winning awards and accolades for their earthy and soulful singing style.
